Effects of steel fibre type and dosage on abrasion resistance of concrete against debris flow

The collision and friction between the coarse solid particle concrete surface are main reason for abrasion damage of structures caused by debris flow. Fibre reinforcement can improve shear resistance toughness concrete, however, their effects on flow mechanism yet not well understood. In this study, influences type dosage steel fibre, slurry concentration gravel content fibre-reinforced investigated using a developed rotating-drum device. Results show that short straight fibre medium hook-ended better to owing distribution space bridging effect. increase in reduction reduce damage. failure modes mainly presented as polishing, fracture peeling, new against is proposed. Based present results, with 1.5 vol% shows outstanding resistance, which recommended designing protective structures.
